I miss every moment of my schooling at Kufakwezwe high
school. I was a student of this school since 2010 when I was doing grade 11
until 2012 when I matriculated. I was doing the following subjects: History,
Geography, tourism, maths lit, life orientation,Afrikaans,English and my home
language which is Xitsonga. When I matriculated we were 52 matriculants in that
school and we were all in a same class room though we were not doing same
subjects, so others had to go out for other subjects while others remain in.
this was crazy and disturbing to other students because they always had to move
their chairs and desks out for another lesson.
My school was located in poor rural area and has poor
infrastructure where in other class rooms the was no electricity. Other class
room was liking on the roof, this was a barrier for use to concentrate when it
rains. I wanted to do math’s and science but the was no educators for this subjects
so I had to do history and geography which was not what I wanted.
There
was no any type of technology used in our subject’s classes as other class
rooms had no electricity. The only place you would find any technological
instrument was in principal’s office, that’s you, would find a computer or
other machines. But all of this never stopped me form getting what I wanted and
that was to complete matric and further my studies in university. So being one
of the University of Johannesburg students it’s a great achievement to me

I am really impressed by some of the points you mentioned in you blog Mr Mkhonto ,the fact that you sai at your school where you matriculated the were no any means of technological Appliances but then today you are here at university level studying B.Ed degree and one of it's modules is TDS and your one of the best students that are doing well in the module but then when i take a look at your Academic background as u also mentioned that "the were no technological appliences' that supports the fact that hard working defines perfomance #salute Mr Mkhonto
ReplyDeleteI encountered some similar challenges during my school years, most if not all school in Mpumalanga are unable to access internet, learning takes place under uncomfortable, unconclusive environment, however with the help of our dedicated teacher we manage to prosper to the next level where we are currently.
